Equity Scholars Program

APT Conference Student Scholarships

The Association for Preservation Technology International (APT) and APT's Inclusion Advocacy Committee are committed to creating programs that support our mission to encourage equity and cultural diversity within APT and to support the growth and development of diversity within the historic preservation field.

Launched during APT's 2022 conference in Detroit with funding from the Getty Foundation, the APT Equity Scholars program provides funding to BIPOC students and professionals to attend APT's annual conference. Thanks to funding from a new donor, CSI - Computer and Structures, Inc - APT is pleased to continue this program for students to attend the APT - National Trust Joint Conference Montreal 2024, from November 13-17, 2024.

Selected Equity Scholars receive the following benefits:

  • Complimentary conference registration, including tickets to the Scholarship Luncheon, Chapters Breakfast, and Closing Celebration.

  • $375 USD stipend for travel expenses and $120 USD allowance for meals.

  • Accommodations in a shared hotel room for four nights with arrival on November 13th and departure on November 17th. (Requests for a single room are based on availability and would require the recipient to pay for half the hotel rate).
