Wednesday, December 4, 2024, 1:00-4:30 p.m. ET Wednesday, December 11, 2024, 1:00-4:30 p.m. ET
Join APT and our expert presenters to learn practical lessons about challenges and opportunities presented by building codes when working with historic buildings. Two webinar sessions are geared toward design professionals and others with a working knowledge of the (model) International Codes. Register for one or both sessions, although attendance at the first is suggested but not required for Session 2.
If you’ve struggled with a building where “the code” is portrayed as an absolute for things you “cannot” or “must” do, negatively impacting the historic building or threatening the overall project, these sessions are for you! Learn about provisions for historic buildings that present alternative pathways to success.
In particular, in addition to general discussion our speakers focus on fire, energy, and accessibility codes. There will be a live Q&A at the end of each day, providing an opportunity for you to address the presenters.

Wednesday, December 4, 2024 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. ET
This session is intended for design professionals and others with a working knowledge of the (model) codes. What do they say related to historic buildings and how can that be interpreted? How do they challenge yet also present opportunities for historic buildings? We will identify problems and challenges to be addressed in session 2. The 2024 International-codes and related documents will be used as the basis of discussion.
